Hickey Smith welcomes Barry J. Trilling to the firm as Of Counsel and leader of the firm’s Environmental Business, Regulatory and Litigation practice area. Barry serves clients with cross-disciplinary experience in the interaction of environmental law with commercial business and real estate transactions, borrowing and lending, business formation, corporate disclosure, estates and trusts, insurance, land use, historic preservation, officer/director liability, tax incentive policy.
A seasoned practitioner with more than 40 years experience, Barry handles a wide variety of matters with regard to the environment, “green” business, historic preservation, and other commercial and real estate issues. These include business and real estate transactions, due diligence investigations, site remediation, brownfields redevelopment, community relations, wetlands, insurance transactions, legislation, rule making, debt and equity financing, climate change and energy efficiency matters, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) matters, as well as environmental litigation and dispute resolution.
A proven advisor to clients located both within the United States and internationally, Barry has represented clients in a wide variety of environmental matters including commercial transactions, regulatory and legislative counsel, and litigation at the trial and appellate level concerning environmental, commercial, government contract, and administrative law.
